Consider these to be VR experience demos. These will get you familiar to moving about in a Virtual environment while also assisting your eyes and sense of balance in adjusting.

vr games to play as a beginner

The juiciest, biggest action-packed explosion of fruity delight is here! Fruit Ninja VR, reimagined by the captivating power of virtual reality, gets you closer to the action than any time before.

Go into the Fruit Ninja realm to experience virtual reality like you’ve never seen before. Duel with not one, but two swords that will also let you juggle, skewer and flick fruit, and even deflect bombs. Play through the modes that billions of players have enjoyed on mobile

Job Simulator (HTC Vive, Oculus Touch, PSVR)

what vr games should i play first

Do you despise your day job? Want to smack your boss in the face with a stapler? Want to put motor oil in that rude customer’s sandwich? Yeah me too, Job Simulator lets you do all that and more.

This Virtual reality game is a collection of mini-games meant to familiarize you with handling things in a virtual space. Similarly, very little physical movement is needed of you, so chances of having motion sickness is virtually impossible. The emphasis on gesture controls will help you become acquainted with the input method of your selected VR headset. Did I also mention you choose to throw stuff at your boss? cool right?!

Job Simulator is a fun little VR game, clearly part of the VR games for adults or at least for those who have an experience of having to be an employee. It’s readily beatable in 4 hours, even with all of the accomplishments, but don’t let that discourage you from trying it out.

It contains an unlimited mode for all the four jobs you can do inside the game elements to keep gameplay interesting, as well as a delightful graphic that will keep you engaged long after the main plot is complete. I’d recommend this to anyone searching for a simulator-style VR game (like the powerwash simulator, viscera cleanup detail, and so on) or just a VR experience to pass the time.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted (PSVR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive)

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Needed is a mishmash of classic and unique mini-games centered in the Five Nights world. Survive scary encounters with your iconic killer animations in a selection of new and old FNAF adventures. “Where imagination and joy come to life!” Experience the horror in flat (non-VR) mode or VR. Oculus Rift and HTC Vive are supported

It’s most likely the best way to enjoy the Five Nights at Freddy’s series. I’d definitely advise using a VR headset since it makes you feel like you’re truly in the environment, which makes it scarier and more realistic. But, playing without it is as enjoyable, since it seems like a 3D replica of the original 4 FNAF games with some added amusing minigames. It’s completely easy to play.

Lucky’s Tale (Meta Quest, PSVR, Oculus Rift)

best beginner vr games

Lucky’s Tale is probably the most intense game on this list. But, unlike the previous games, you are not placed in the shoes of the main character. Instead, you’re the camera, following a cartoony mascot on his gameplay adventure.

Lucky Swiftail is a brave fox on a quest to save his best friend Piggy from the monstrously tentacled Glorp. It looks like one of those VR games for kids but I think anyone can play it as long as you have the energy.

Lucky’s Story is like the Fish Tank VR game, which is not intended to be intense. Yet, because you are not the character moving, there is little possibility of being motion sick. Finally, and most importantly. It’s free if you have an Oculus Rift.

Tilt Brush (HTC Vive, PC)

Tilt Brush allows you to paint in virtual reality in 3D space. Experiment with three-dimensional painting, stars, light, or even fire. Your living space is your canvas. Your imagination is your palette. For Tilt Brush, the options are limitless.

It is hardly a game. It is a program that allows you to create 3D graphics in a virtual space. It is ideal for beginners due to the absence of a loose stage. Simply choose a virtual paintbrush and start painting, then move around your lovely sculpture to view it from all points of view.
