List of the best January Movies 2023
Below are a handpicked collection of movies we consider to be the best movies for January 2023.
M3GAN
No, this is not another documentary on Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, but rather a Blumhouse assembly-line science-fiction/horror movie. M3gan (Model 3 Generative Android) is a doll with artificial intelligence that evolves into a killing machine. Gemma (Williams), a robotics engineer/toy designer, also the guardian of her orphaned niece, Cady (McGraw).
Cady was given the toy doll, as a companion and emotional support to help her heal from the devastating death of her parents. When the toy acquires self-awareness and intuition, everything becomes confusing and deadly.
A Man Called Otto
A Man Called Ove is an overripe version of Fredrick Backman’s novel about Otto (Hanks), a cantankerous widower in his late 50s whose suicide attempts are prevented by the presence of his new neighbors, Marisol and Tommy (Trevio and Garcia-Rufo). Otto, the diligent and humorless, also discovers a number of activities that require his attention, further delaying his intention to terminate his life and join his wife in the hereafter.
The film, which was first shot by Swedish filmmaker Hannes Holm in 2015, suffers from the flaws common with American remakes, which typically turn the plot and characters upside down. Unlike the Swedish version, which used subtle narrative and characterization.
Marisol, for example, is fundamentally a loud and intrusive individual, but the Swedish version showed the Iranian neighbor as more calm and more collected. Otto and Marisol’s friendship is less spontaneous in its growth. Some of Forster’s changes succeed, such as how Otto’s relationship with his wife is handled or how social media is incorporated into the tale, but it also ignores Otto’s past concerning his parents.
Hanks has the finest performance in this film of the three he has been in 2022. Despite its melodramatic and somewhat cheesy execution, the remake is enjoyable, especially if you haven’t seen the original.

Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre

In the first 60 seconds, you know you’re in for a bumpy ride and should fasten your seatbelt. Don’t be fooled by the plot – this is a Guy Ritchie movie, and it’s done on the level of a James bond movie, with exotic locations and amazing settings. Best of all, it’s done tongue in cheek, with lots of dry and other humor.
It stars Jason Statham, Hugh Grant (who is fantastic as the villain), Aubrey Plaza, Cary Elwes, Josh Hartnett, and Eddie Marsan. It’s SPY vs. SPY, with some Ukrainian and men thrown in for good measure. As I already stated, it’s quite humorous and packed with action – literally on the scale of a James bond movie. ENJOY!
Running with Speed

It tells the remarkable story of how the world’s most committed and imaginative video game players battle to set the world’s fastest records, and how they team together to raise millions of dollars to fight cancer.
Spoiler Alert

Spoiler Alert tells the story of Michael Ausiello and Kit Cowan’s relationship, which ends up taking a tragic turn from the moment Cowan was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
